In terms of the great growth of China's economic development, the shortage of energy supply has been revealed as a major issue and developing new energy sources to become the only way to respond the matter. The wind power is the most matured technology of these new energy power generations, and also has the fundamental conditions of largely development and great outlook for commercial development.

According to China Renewable Energy Society of Professional Committee of wind energy's statistics, by the end of 2007, the total wind power installed capacity of China was 5,906,000 kilowatts, accounting for 0.83% of the total installed capacity of national power, 2008 is expected to reach 10 million kilowatts and will reach 20 million kilowatts by 2010.

Over the past three years, China's wind power installed capacity had a double growth.

During 2008 to 2010, China's additional installed capacity of wind power is expected to be 5,500,000Kw and 7,200,00KW and 9,300,000 KW respectively, and megawatt-class turbine will be the mainstream product.

For example, if during 2008 to 2010 the annual growth of under megawatt-class wind power generation units' additional installed capacity is 10%, the proportion of megawatt-class blades will take 66%, 71% and 76% of the total respectively, calculating the average of 1.5MW single capacity, the demand for megawatt-class wind power blade will be 2420, 3408 and 4712 sets during 2008 to 2010.

Analysis of the combinative prediction of the demand and supply of megawatt-class wind power blade that in 2008 and 2009 the supply of megawatt-class wind power blade will still in a shortage situation, until 2010 this tight supply situation will ease significantly and the intensifying competition will lead to some small companies out of market, industry Concentration will gradually increase; those companies who hold advanced technology and advantage of scale and good management will share the market; also it's a high threshold for new comer.

Comparison with wind power's main parts, the entrance threshold of blade is relatively low. Because of shortage of supply and great profits, attracting numbers of enterprises enter the field of blade production; compared with other wind power components, the low threshold of blade production is reflected on technology and raw materials.

For instance, the technology, in recent year, the most major megawatt-class wind power blade manufacturers are new comers, who have cooperated with foreign enterprises to acquire the production technology, the cost of the entirely technology and transfer is relatively lower than other parts.
